Christians and Hell

Have you seen Christian interactions in online Christian groups? Did you find it funny that majority of the members argue a lot?

Turns out, everyone is not perfect. Even people who follow Jesus can be less inspirational.

This is why I encourage everyone to schedule time for prayer and reading the Bible. There will be times that people will not represent Jesus well and it is good to get to know Christ on your own.

Here is my devotional reading for the week:

Romans 2:12

12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

Here are my key takeaways from the verse above:

  • All sin

  • All will perish

I will discuss them in detail.

All Sin

Romans 3:23

New International Version

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Believers and nonbelievers alike will sin. No person is better than anyone. All of us need Jesus to have eternal life.

Christians are not better than unbelievers when we look at morality and sin.

No Christian can say I'm better than you because you are a sinner. The Bible clearly states that all of us are sinners.

We cannot even boast about God's love for us because God's love for everyone is perfect. God's love is not limited to Christians.

What we can boast about is Jesus. We are clearly unworthy of blessings and salvation, but Jesus loved us and saved us.

All Will Perish

Romans 6:23

English Standard Version

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Everyone was going to end up in hell if not for Jesus' sacrifice. Let's think about that for a second.

Revelation 20:10

English Standard Version

10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Is that how you want to spend eternity?

Some people take this lightly. They even joke about how Satan would rape them, and they'd be all casual about it. Some say they would rule hell.

The way I see it, hell would be like your worst experience, multiplied by 100, and experiencing this agony in your heart and mind every second, for all eternity. My description is definitely an understatement.

I felt depressed about two years ago. I still remember how I wanted my heart and brain to stop so I wouldn't feel the fear. I changed my lifestyle drastically so I wouldn't experience depression again.

If what I felt during those dark days is even a portion of hell, then I would do everything to avoid hell.

The smartest man in the world can never disprove hell or heaven, because no one, other than Jesus, has conquered death.

So, think a hundred times before you reject Jesus.

Only Jesus

John 3:16

English Standard Version

16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

We have a way out of hell thanks to Jesus. The verse above says it all.

Like what Romans 6:23 says, the wage of sin is death and Jesus paid for it. Jesus met all the requirements of sin when He died on the cross.

All we need now is to believe. Again, don't take the concept of hell likely. Only God knows what's going to happen.

In this day and age, we know right away what a scam is or not, however, no one can shut Christians up because no one can disprove Jesus.

Jesus wants nothing but the best for you. So, trust Him. Risking spending eternity in hell is not worth the things that are hindering you from believing in the Gospel of Christ.

Let's Sum It Up

Everyone sins therefore no one is better than anyone.

We should approach life with a grateful and humble heart.

All will go to hell if not for Jesus. So, think about your decision to reject the Gospel of Christ lightly.

Christians may not represent Jesus properly so go seek Jesus yourself and learn about the beautiful promises of God for you.

Prayer of Salvation

Friend, if you want to know Jesus, but you are unsure of your standing in faith, say this prayer. God sees your heart, so say the words with conviction and faith.

"Father, I am a sinner. Forgive my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross so I could live fully on earth and in heaven. Change my heart and mind according to your will. This I pray, in the mighty Name of Jesus, amen."

Friend, if you prayed this prayer in faith, I believe you have set things right with God.
