I heard the news about a government executive stealing money from the people's health fund in the Philippines.
This thievery meant that Filipinos who worked hard and paid much money to ensure that they are medically covered would have problems when they claim for benefits.
The world is in chaos, and there are men like this executive, who can steal from suffering people for personal gain.
I pray for a heart of wisdom so I could handle my emotions towards this person.
I do not want his deeds contributing to my increasing list of sins.
You may feel that God unfair because we see wicked people go unpunished. I encourage everyone to focus on God's faithfulness. We may never understand all His works, but He has plans for each one of us. If we trust Him, we are going to be okay.
Again, I ask everyone to have a prayer schedule and to read the Bible so we could gain understanding about God's plans for us.
Here is my devotional reading this week:
Romans 2:5-6
5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.
6 God will repay each person according to what they have done.
Here are my key takeaways from the verses above:
God sees everything that we do
We are judged according to our actions
I will discuss them in detail.
God Sees Everything That We Do.
Proverbs 15:3
English Standard Version
3
The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
keeping watch on the evil and the good.
If we think that we can hide anything from God, then we are mistaken.
Many people do bad things and think they can get away with it, so they live a life of sin.
Many people do great things and feel they don't get credit for it, so they try to showcase their deeds to the world which is counterproductive because if you claim your blessings from people, then you might not receive your blessings from God.
We Are Judged According to What We Have Done.
Matthew 16:27
English Standard Version
27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.
God is just and plays no favourites. We will get what we deserve in His perfect timing.
Those who think they got away with sin will receive the full consequences of the bad things they have done.
Those who did good things will receive blessings beyond their imagination when the time comes.
What If I Fail in My Christian Journey?
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
English Standard Version
9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
We will fail because we cannot fulfil the commands in the Bible. We will fall short for sure.
That is why Jesus came to save us. He completed the requirements of the law because He lived a perfect life.
Jesus sacrificed His life and offered it as payment for humanity's sin.
His life was enough to cleanse humankind's sin in the past, present and future.
All we need to do is to believe in Jesus and ask Him to be our Lord and Saviour.
Do not be turned off by becoming a Jesus follower. The more you explore God's commands, the more you will realise that they are for our benefit.
Let Us Sum It Up
God sees everything. We cannot hide our deeds from God. Both good and bad actions are known to Him.
We will be judged according to our actions so let us focus on Jesus. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour so you can be saved from God's judgment.
If you fail, start over. God sees your heart and loves you unconditionally.
Prayer of Salvation
Friend, if you want to know Jesus, but you are unsure of your standing in faith, say this prayer. God sees your heart, so say the words with conviction and faith.
"Father, I am a sinner. Forgive my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross so I could live fully on earth and in heaven. Change my heart and mind according to your will. This I pray, in the mighty Name of Jesus, amen."
Friend, if you prayed this prayer in faith, I believe you have set things right with God.
