Social Media is my primary source of information nowadays. It is an excellent way to pass the time, but I tell you it is not cheering me up.
Here are what upset me most this week:
Surely if I dwell entirely on social media, I will get depressed. It is good to unwind and have a break from all the stress. I must get my Bible and pray.
Again, I encourage everyone to have your quiet time in prayer and reading the Bible. These are good ways to receive peace from God.
For my devotional reading this week, I focused on:
14 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the Gospel also to you who are in Rome.
Here are my takeaways from the verses:
1. We must share the Gospel
1 Corinthians 9:16
New International Version (NIV)
16 For when I preach the Gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel!
God gave us the responsibility to share the Gospel with people. As we obey Jesus in this generic mission, the more we get closer in fulfilling God's individual plan for us. We need to know what the Gospel is and why is it important to share it with people.
What is the Gospel?
The Gospel is defined as good news.
What is good about the Gospel of Jesus?
The Gospel of Jesus tells us the story of how Jesus saved people from the consequences of sin.
Jesus fulfilled all of God's commands and instructions for us.
All that is left for us to do is to believe in Jesus, and we will receive:
We live in one of the hardest times in the history of the world. People are frustrated and need hope. Jesus is our hope, but some people do not know Him yet. Believing in Jesus can change any circumstance, and that is one of the reasons why people need to know about Him. Let us share the Gospel.
2. We should not discriminate.
English Standard Version (ESV)
2 For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, 3 and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, "You sit here in a good place," while you say to the poor man, "You stand over there," or, "Sit down at my feet," 4 have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
We should treat everyone with respect. If we do not know how to do it, there is information available online about how to be respectful of others. We should make time to learn these things. After all, how can we be ambassadors of Christ if we do not carry ourselves well?
Another thing is we should share the Gospel to everyone, regardless of race, stature, gender, age, etc. Everyone needs Jesus.
3. Share the Gospel with energy.
English Standard Version (ESV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Sharing God's love is a commitment.
Pray and think about how you can share God's love. It could be writing a blog like me, writing songs, drawing, etc.
You will spend hours writing, practising, or creating your piece. You must do it consistently, and it will require hard work. God sees what you do in secret and will reward you publicly.
Sum it Up
We must share the Gospel regardless of our situation. It is great timing to share Jesus today because people all around the world need hope.
We should not discriminate and treat everyone with respect. Remember that we represent Christ.
We should not hesitate to share the Gospel to everyone because everyone needs Jesus.
We must be enthusiastic and creative when sharing the Gospel. Let us tap into our passion and offer it to Jesus.
Prayer of Salvation
Friend, if you want to know Jesus, but you are unsure of your standing in faith, say this prayer.
God sees your heart, so say the words with conviction and faith.
"Father, I am a sinner. Forgive my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross so I could live fully on earth and in heaven. Change my heart and mind according to your will. This I pray, in the mighty Name of Jesus, amen."
Friend, if you prayed this prayer in faith, I believe you have set things right with God.
If you want to grow in faith, find a Bible-based church. You can also reach out to me through my social media platforms and this website, www.high3r.com. I would love to hear from you.
