November is the birth month of a few members of my family here in Australia. A few weeks ago, we decided to go to the beach to celebrate. I looked forward to this because it has been very stressful at work for the past few weeks for me, considering I did a three-week-long certification and a ten-week long training induction. I needed this time to get in touch with nature and unwind.
My brother-in-law is very good at planning trips, especially with long drives such as this. Our first stop was at the Kiama Blowhole.

The Kiama Blowhole is a massive rock formation that lay near the ocean. The huge rocks that stand firm against the crashing waves were a sight to behold, but what makes Kiama Blowhole special is that it has a part that shoots the seawater upward as the waves hit it, just like a giant water fountain. We enjoyed getting our photos taken in time with the blowhole’s eruption.

The next stop was Hyam Beach. They said that this beach has the whitest sand in the world. Rock formations, coral reefs, and beautiful people made Hyam a special place to visit. On the hillside beside the beach, my brother-in-law fired up the grill, and we had our fill of his world-class pork ribs. After the feast, we enjoyed playing around on the fine white sand and in the clear cool waters of Hyam beach.

Last on our list was Bald Hill point. It is a lookout post at the edge of a cliff that has a great view of the ocean. The vast sea matched the endless sky, and it was a sight to behold. The sunset with the sun’s rays piercing through the clouds was glorious. I wasn’t interested in travelling or visiting famous landmarks until recently. I’m more interested in staying at home and watching great movies or sports on TV.

I guess it was my visit to the Three Sisters mountain peak in the Blue Mountains that renewed my mindset about finding time to see beautiful places when possible.
Here’s the deal for me, fantastic scenery reminds me that there’s an awesome God behind it. I could hear the mountain peaks speak about God’s glory. I could feel the oceans, and blue skies worship the Lord. I feel my heartbeat faster and my senses heighten by the looking at God’s handiwork. Exposure to magical-like surroundings strengthens my faith.
I believe that only a wonderful creator can create such a beautiful creation. I don’t believe that life just happened, and the world is just a result of a massive explosion in space. How could it be? How could an accident uplift our spirits? How could a mishap enrich empty souls? The wonder of nature sings the praises of an omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient God. You would hear it if you listen close enough.
Job 12:7-10
New International Version (NIV)
7 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,Or let the fish in the sea inform you.9 Which of all these does not know? That the hand of the Lord has done this?10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.
