Every time I fast, I devote time to prayer and listen to the word of God. I listen to a whole lot of preachers, but I look to Levi Lusko a lot lately. In one of Levi’s sermons, he mentioned that the Church is supposed to reach out to the people that God assigned to them. This statement reminded me of High3r.com. Through the website’s related social media accounts I reached a few people, but I never interacted with them. I said to myself if God wants me to connect to the people that He assigned to me, maybe I need to reach out to the ones who followed me on social media. One by one I sent my followers a message. I asked if I could pray for them. Most of them ignored me, but a few responded and told me their prayer requests. Few asked me “Why do I pray for people?” They asked if I was a pastor. I said that I’m just a regular guy. Their question made me think about why do I pray for people? I looked back to the time when I wasn’t allowing God to lead my life. I was a broken mess. I was in poverty. I worked so hard but was still in debt, and I didn’t know how to get out of that situation. I was depressed. I look for happiness in alcohol and meaningless sex. I found temporary pleasure while I get wasted or share a bed with someone, but once I’m alone, I wanted to kill myself. I lived in a cockroach and rat infested dump with rent that cost way too high. That all changed when I let Jesus guide my steps. When I started to pray and read my Bible regularly. Now I’m living a life that I thought was impossible for me. The best thing about it is that I’m still expecting more! So why do I pray for others? It’s because Jesus saved me and I want others who need a break get to know Him.
