I’m an Ellen fan, but I don’t regularly watch her show. I only watch clips of her on social media. I went to the office pantry one fated lunch break and there it was, The Ellen show was on TV. I prepared my lunch, took a seat, and watched while I enjoyed my wife’s cooked meal. On the screen was Jeannie (Ellen’s staff) trolling an Ellen fan with an earpiece in her ear. They did the usual, Ellen asked Jeannie to do crazy stuff in front of the fan, and it was hilarious. Ellen then told Jeannie that it was time to reveal the joke. When Jeannie did, the fan was not surprised at all. Jeannie was shocked. She even said to the fan, “That’s Ellen talking to you,” but again the fan was not excited at all. This reaction confused Jeannie a lot. Ellen later said to the fan, “Of course you’re not surprised. The surprise is not for you; it’s for Jeannie (Not Ellen’s exact words).” Ellen then invited Jeannie on the set and the latter ran toward Ellen with such awe and excitement on her face. Ellen then announced that it was Jeannie’s 10th year anniversary. Apparently, before her career with Ellen, Jeannie was just a fan who joined a lot of Ellen’s contests. Jeannie didn’t win at all, but because she was loyal and faithful to the show, she was invited to the studio and was offered a job. They showed clips of Jeannie’s crazy fantastic job. They presented how people laughed and celebrated at the mere sight of her. They played videos of Jeannie as she facilitated family reunions. They showed how Jeannie became such a considerable part of a lot of people’s unforgettable moments. Jeannie cried the whole time. I didn’t think she saw most of the clips. She also got a brand new car by the way. It’s incredible that an average person like Jeannie could dream of better days and get it. It’s great to see the extraordinary things she was able to do for people. And of course, Ellen helped Jeannie realise her dream. That’s the life goal right there. My eyes welled up. I quickly turned and looked around. I had to check if anyone saw me. I think the main reason why the clip hit me so hard was that it reminded me of the reason why I do what I do. It reminded me of my desire to be in a position where I am capable of inspiring and changing people’s lives for the better, All for the cause of Jesus Christ, who went through torture, sacrificed His life and bore all my sin. If I can inspire one person to achieve their dreams— be the best that they can be, motivate him/her to encourage others, and offer all glory and honour to Jesus— then I could say I have lived a full life. Let’s aim to soar higher and be an inspiration to people. Let’s spread the love and power of Jesus. With God, nothing is impossible. God cares for us! We should spread positivity and promote good vibes!
