Be Part of the Handful

I was so stressed one day, and I thought it would be a good idea to go to social media to unwind, how wrong was I?

I saw death. People committed suicide left and right. The ones who held my dream jobs took their own lives.

I read about government regulations that divided families. Families were broken because of bad decisions made by well-meaning people. Innocent children suffered because the adults around them didn’t care enough.

I saw news about how Global warming was causing Antarctica to melt which could destroy the world.

Honestly, I got stressed out even more.

Then I heard Chris Pratt’s advice about hard work, bullying and most importantly, God. Chris’ speech got worldwide attention. I loved how people responded to his rules in life. He inspired the world with his words. Heavens, he encouraged me.

I pray that I could get to that position where people would listen to me. I pray that I would be rich enough that when I choose to help it will be life changing. I want to be a part of the handful of people who can change the world for the better.

I believe everyone should aspire to be in a position of power, and when we get there, let’s not brag about how expensive our jewellery is or how we can afford expensive wine. Let’s spread the message that helping others— providing education to the illiterate, opportunities to the skilled, food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, medical care to the sick, and spreading the love of Jesus— is what’s important.

Let’s be the light in this world filled with darkness, the salt that would preserve this world from decay. Let’s aim for higher, bigger and better things.

Matthew 5:14-16

New International Version (NIV)

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
