Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
The verse told us that the Magi travelled far so that they could worship Jesus. These people were considered wise and wealthy, but they still wanted to know and worship Jesus. They knew that no matter how wealthy or educated people may be, they still need a Saviour. Even the most successful businessman will experience loneliness, and even the most beautiful supermodel can spend the nights crying. People at the top of the heap fall hardest, and when they do, they need to know that they are not alone. Frequently the things of this world are not enough to satisfy our desires and make us feel content. One night I turned on the TV and watched the game of one of my favourite players in the NBA, but I still got bored. So I turned on my laptop, looked for the latest updates in UFC and saw that there was free streaming for a big match. I ended up watching the fights on the computer while watching Derek Rose play on TV. You know what? I still felt bored. There is just no way earthly things can fill a man’s desire. We need to experience Godin our lives. The journey of life is a very far expedition. The road that we need to go through is unfriendly. Here on earth, we will face great tribulation, but Jesus is waiting for us to call on Him. Our help is just a prayer away.
