The Wall of Fear

Matthew 1:20-21 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Fear is our worst enemy. When you dread someone or something, you let them take control of your life instead of fulfilling your dreams. The best way to fight what we fear is to read the Bible. One word from God can give us empowerment. It can provide us with the courage and faith that we need to overcome our trials. Just like in Matthew 1:20-21, God sent an angel to let Joseph know about His plans. When Joseph heard God’s message, he was encouraged to take Mary as his wife and took his place in God’s plan for the salvation of humanity. But remember, hearing the word and understanding it is not enough for us to fulfil God’s plan in our lives. We should also take action.

Matthew 1:24-25 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. Just like an obedient servant, Joseph did precisely what he was told first thing in the morning. Joseph married Mary, and when she gave birth, he named the baby boy Jesus.

Joseph faced his fears. The word from God empowered him, and the rest was history. Let’s make a habit of hearing from God daily. Pray, read the Bible, attend fellowships, and listen to the men and women of God so that we will be encouraged. Joseph fulfilled God’s plan for his life, so can we. Let's soar higher! Promote good vibes! Spread positivity!
